Dr Andrea Shaelou graduated from the Democritus University of Thrace in Greece. She received her specialization in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in Lukaskrankenhaus, a fetal and neonatal hospital in Neuss Germany with over two thousand deliveries per year. She has therefore acquired significant experience in Obstetrics including the diagnosis and management of high-risk pregnancies. She holds a certification by the german Association of Medical Sonography (DEGUM – Deutsche Gesellschaft für Ultraschall in der Medizin) in gynaecological ultrasound scanning, including Doppler-perfusion examination.
She subsequently worked as a consultant in Bethesda Krankenhaus in Duisburg, an Endometriosis and gynaecological cancer center, where she gained significant experience in laparoscopic treatment of endometriosis and other benign gynaecological conditions. She is certified in Minimal Invasive Surgery (Hysteroscopy and Laparoscopy - MIC I) by the german Association of gynaecological endoscopy (AGE).
Furthermore, she is certified in paediatric and adolescent gynaecology by the german Association of Kinder – und Jugendgynaekologie e.V. Dr Shaelou believes firmly in keeping patients at the forefront and is an advocate for women’s choice in a safe and personalized environment.
